My contribution
Led the team to redesign the entire course selection system's user flow, starting from a low-fidelity prototype. After dozens of iterations and extensive usability testing, we finally developed a deliverable high-fidelity prototype.
Project Overview
This project is a redesign of the Enrollment Center conducted by the Information Office of Tongji University. It integrates the scattered Enrollment Page and Schedule Page. Additionally, a smooth course selection process was designed, greatly enhancing the user experience of students during course selection.
It was launched in the spring semester of 2021.
Problem
The biggest issue with the previous version of the Tongji Enrollment Center is that its enroll page and schedule page are separate. This prevents students from intuitively seeing their courses and corresponding schedules, making the course selection experience less smooth. The backend received many related complaints.

Enrollment Page
Search for courses, select the appropriate course to add to the cart, and then register for the course in the cart.

Schedule Page
Select from the waitlisted and enrolled courses to generate a schedule for the respective courses.
Solution
All in one page
We have redesigned the entire course selection user flow. The course schedule is placed on the left side, and the information of the courses in the current list is on the right side. The course search page is implemented through a pop-up window. This redesigned user flow allows for an intuitive and clear view of the corresponding time arrangements for course selection, greatly reducing the time spent switching back and forth between two pages.
Clear course selection process
The course selection process is complex because the school offers a variety of different types of courses, each with its own set of conditions. For example, if you choose lecture1 for a course, you cannot choose discussion2. Therefore, we designed a two-step course selection process, where users can select their courses by following a linear procedure.
Rapid conflict resolution
Students often encounter conflicts between two classes. In the past, they needed to open several pages to arrange a conflict-free schedule. Therefore, we designed an interactive form for selecting other times for courses by dragging and dropping, allowing students to arrange their schedules more quickly and in one go.
